The same character may have different types depending on the Shaman selected. Manta has also been confirmed to not be a playable character on your Shaman team. In addition to the characters listed above, more characters may be available within the base game that have not been announced yet. The developers are also planning on adding in more characters after the game launches. When doing the gacha pull you have the potential to pull duplicates of Shamans you already have.
The duplicates could be a shaman with a higher star rarity, where you can merge your duplicates together. Within the chapters of the game your team of Shamans will fight a variety of different enemies in waves. These enemies can be other shamans or new enemies created for the game. From the pre-release screenshots the following are all of the enemies shown within the game so far. No names have been given to these enemies yet. Based on how well you do in the fight you will get a score and ranking in points.
There is also a cumulative score to get additional rewards. The round will reset every couple of days and you have a limit on how many times you can play. Playing this mode does not reduce your stamina which is used for playing the main story missions.
From playing this mode you can also earn in-game money SP. An English translation for the text has been added to Shaman Fight Online Battle screen for this article. A portion of the screen on the right was obscured in this pre-release image. Within the Exchange feature you will be able to do level enhancements on your Shamans. This can increase the level for the Shaman to make them more powerful.
You can also combine multiple Shamans of the same name that were pulled from the Gacha to increase the overall rarity of the Shaman. The higher rarity will allow for stronger stats. There is also Awoken levels and additional benefits you can do once you start to reach the maximum level. There are also in-game items that you can use to upgrade your Shamans too. These special orbs can either be character specific or be applied to any Shaman. These orbs can be acquired by completing more difficult stages such as the EX Missions or as rewards from other in-game events.
While your shamans are in the Guest House other Shamans may come to visit which can assist in gaining bonuses. The Friendship level for each Shaman also increases while in the Guest House which can help unlock Shaman-specific story missions. The EX Missions are additional missions that you can play to gain additional rewards. These are more challenging than the story mode and each are based around a single character. The major rewards for completing are shown at the bottom which can be used to increase the rarity and strength of your Shamans.
In addition to the modes listed above there are other modes within the game where you can gain bonuses. Details on these modes are not available yet, and some of them may be available after the game launches. Over the last year they have been coming up with ideas, but may not be able to add them in until after the game launches. The previous Japanese console games for Shaman King had several mini-game modes that took a more humorous view of the series. There is also a possible Jun-based mission as well.
