In Game. Title Screen. Advert Arcade Version. An evil entity known as Death Adder has captured the King and his daughter, and holds them captive in their castle. Most viewed Commodore Amiga games:. Hong Kong Phooey: No. Very good conversion IMO. Fun to play with a friend, but should be much harder to beat. Great conversion of a good game - some of the best graphics on the Amiga at the time.
The game had its few quirks but overall it was very good - particuarly good fun in two player. I can still hum the music even though it must be over 10 years since I heard it! Little Monkey Lost Yeah, everybody loved this one when this came out. Though, I wouldn't waste a minute on this these days. Side scrolling beat 'em ups are somewhat bore, expect Dynamite Dux.
Of course graphics and animation had to be cut down but the game si totally smooth and really playable. The game itself was very popular by it's time so it still worth a look. Great fun for a retro blast, though. A good solid conversion that you could pick up and play anytime, even after finishing.
As mentioned a lot of times here, it is VERY easy though. I have completed very few games, however Golden Axe was almost impossible not to complete every time. But a really great game, both in 1 and 2 player mode. I don't have this game on C64, but it never bothers me playing it on the Amiga.
Fighting out against those small knights are lot easier, but with big ones, and of course those small skeletons, it's quite hard to kill them.
Good sound effects and excellent music as well. Superb game!!! Although the game had some minor things wrong with it, i. It's almost perfect: just few details are missing compared to the original game.
Generally speaking this is the final proof that Amiga was able to handle good coin-op conversion if only they were realised by high professional programmers exploiting Amiga better capabilities and not just as straight ST source code cloning like, unfortunately, most of times they were. If you hit one of the bad guys, it sounded like you knocked on wood. But it is way too easy to complete. I still play it every now and then though View all comments Midget-kicking excellence. Jump straight up in the air.
Watch him run underneath you and straight off the edge of a cliff. Never gets old. Including gameplay, pretty graphics and a sexy female fighter. A beat'em up classic of the highest order.
Siminz Not bad at all. One scrolling beat em up worth playing on the Amiga. I must admit I've never played that one, but the Amiga-game is great! I played this dozens of times and it never bored me. Especially with a friend in two player mode it is a super hack 'n slash. You can choose between a barbarian guy, a sexy chick or a dwarf to play with. The game plays great. There are quite a lot of moves to master and occasionally you can even use some animals as a weapon, like fire-spitting dragons.
Graphics are very good and the music is ok. This game is one of my Amiga-favourites! Check it! Being arty person I think Amiga version has the prettiest colour palette. Arcade version has more colours but in comparison it's not as vibrant and Megadrive version looks murky. Sprites are arcade perfect and fluid and frantic action is well-impelented into one joystick button. As far as I can see, Amiga version is the only one where enemies can accidentally damage each other.
So this is not only a conversion but an improvement. Oh, and Tyris's butt is rather sexy. Erm, yes View all comments Fun game with a friend. Never played the coin-op, which I've been told was rather cool. Then fearing the wost, booted the Amiga version. It's impossible to describe my elation when I saw that one of my favourite arcade games of the time was running, almost as a one to one conversion on my home monitor.
They're particulary difficult to beat - being dead, they have no further fear of death! Narrow bridges make the battle even more hazardous. If you win this conflict, then your quest will be successful. Called Bizarrians, these creatures can give you a real edge during combat - if you can knock the rider off the back of a bizarrian,it's possible to climb into the saddle and use the animal itself as a powerful weapon.
As an additional bonus, the bizarrian takes the hits until you are unsaddled. Bizarrians have different attributes, depending on their breed. Some will spit flame or fireballs in the direction they are facing when you press the fire button, while others can inflict damage on the enemy with their sweeping tails - just move the joystick to the left or right to make the creature turn around when one of the Death Adder's soldiers is close by.
Although Bizarrians are fairly docile mounts, waiting quietly for a rider to mount them no-one rides them. Try and stay in the saddle for as long as you can And if you complete a section of the game while you're mounted on a Bizarrian,it departs when you make camp and rest up for a while before attempting the next section of the quest.
Every so often, you'll come across little Elves who scamper around the current screen area clutching sacks. If you chase after them and nudge them, or strenght bars. If you walk over a magic pot,it is added to your character's magic reserves;similarly walking over a strenght bar allows you to increase your energy reserves by one unit. Watch out for the Elves that sometimes appear when you are resting up at the end of a section.
Under the cover of darkness, they attempt to steal pots of magic ans strenght bars from these visitors Whenever you use magic, your character will cast a spell that uses up all the magic he or she is carrying in the form of magic pots shown in the status panel.
This may prove powerful enough to kill off all the hostile crfeatures in the current screen area, but if you are facing particularly strong opponents of Death Adder's creatures may be able to recover from the spell and fight some more. Each time your character takes hits, strenght is lost, but you can replenish strenght if you can persuade an Elf to drop a strenght bar When you finally run out of lives the game ends and the score board appears.
Pressing fire while your character is standing still results in a basic slashing motion with the weapon that he or she is holding.
